Experimental work on selected current research topics

Synthesis and chemistry of coordination compounds and organometallic compounds. Advanced techniques of preparative inorganic chemistry: inert atmosphere techniques, handling of air and moisture sensitive reagents and compounds, preparation and use of oxygen-free and water-free solvents, metalations, transmetalations, ligand metathesis, low-temperature reactions, reaction control by heteronuclear NMR spectroscopy, growth of single crystals for X-ray analysis, organometallic photochemistry, sublimation under high vacuum, chromatographic work-up of organometallic compounds, multi-step synthesis using experimentally difficult intermediates, characterization of products by standard state-of-the-art spectroscopic techniques [IR, UV-Vis, NMR (1H, 13C, 31P and spin-1/2 metal nuclei)], single crystal X-ray analysis
