Students learn how to improve a scientific manuscript based on the first part of the course, as well as on the direct feedback (Ms correction) given by the  lecturer.

The second part of the Scientific Writing is addressed to work directly with the PhD student on her/his own manuscript. In addition, the following exercises will be done.

1-Draft an Abstract about your Ph.D. thesis (200 words).

2-Re-ordering sentences of an abstract

3-Paragraphing

4-Paraphrasing without doing plagiarism

5-Eliminating jargon, oxymorons, and unnecessary words

6- Eliminating wordiness

7- Identifying ambiguity

8-Reshaping sentences

9-Learning how a scientific paper is written (An IMRAD article and a Letter to Nature)

10-Improving your manuscript (by appointment)
