After passing the course you should have gained a basic understanding of Middle High German literature, should be able to use the specific terms, and be aware of cultural characteristics of the epoche. You should also have a basic command of Middle High German grammar so that you shall be able to translate texts in the "Lektürekurs". You shall be familiar with grammatical features of Middle High German and the development of the German language from the Middle Ages to present day.

Grammatical basic knowledge of Middle High German; reading and analysis of Middle High German texts.

Lecture and student-centered activities.

Written and/or oral assignments; mid-term and end-term written exam.

Will be discussed in the first lesson.
 

Positive evaluation of the modules 7 and 12 is required for registration to this course.

Recommended for fourth semester BA Germanistik.
