Skills and methods for critical analysis of media products

Examination of current trends in Media Anaysis with examples from selected media; introduction to and testing of qualitative and quantitative methods of Media Analysis; critical analysis of media products and discussion of quality standards

Collaboration and written exercises.

Course examination according to § 7, statute section on "study-law regulations"

Will be discussed in the first lesson.

– Admission: bachelor students of German Philology are preferred.
– Recommended for the second semester of the Bachelor‘s Programme German Philology and the second section of the Bachelor's Programme Secondary School Teacher Training  („Unterrichtsfach Deutsch“), examination subject „(New) Media“.
– Bachelor students of German Philology and students of the German School Teacher Training should attend the course „VO Introduction to Media Science“ parallel to this course.
