Deepened knowledge and skills concerning the phenomenon Cultural Heritage in regional and international contexts.

Contents:

The course will investigate the ongoiong Heritage-boom from the perspective of cultural theory. What does it stand for when entire landscapes, cities, monuments, but also concentration camps, traditional carnevals or handicrafts are declared Cultural Heritage?

Methods:

Close reading and discussion of key texts, field observations

Assessment:

Paper presentation, seminar paper
