Students have the knowledge and skills to develop solutions and options for design problems in mechanical engineering.

Assessment, selection, and dimensioning of selected machine elements: keys, hydrodynamic bearings, gears, and powertrains; analysis of design examples; FKM-guidelines; projects: dimensioning and design of an assembly or mechanical system according to a given specification.

The course consists of lecture and exercise parts. Exemplary problems and their solutions are presented in the exercise part. In the course of the semester, 2 or 3 homework exercises are announced, which have to be solved by the students autonomously.

Continuous assessment based on regular written and/or oral contributions of the participants (homework exercises) in addition to a course examination according to § 7, statute section on "study-law regulations".

Schlecht: Maschinenelemente 1, Pearson Studium 2015 (2nd ed.) and Maschinenelemente 2, Pearson Studium 2009 (2nd ed.)

Course will be held in e-lecture, if Corona allows it will be changed to face-to-face teaching in WS 21 - same time/will be announced in time.
