Students have a command of the topics dealt with in the courses and are able to contextualize and interpret the acquired factual knowledge. They are confident in recognizing of relationships and in structuring historic routines and processes.
International historians from various fields of historical studies present current research projects in order to discuss them with the students. The lectures are held in German or English and are prepared by readings and group work.

Lecture with in-depth discussion, written preparation and follow-up.
The assessment consists of two parts:
1) Students take on the preparation of one class as a group and develop guiding questions for the presentation based on a research text.
2) All participants write an individual response paper on another presentation (essay).
