Students gain in-depth insights into special perspectives and working techniques of the various topics within architecture and set individual focal points.

GenderSpace - Feminist strategies in space production and appropriation of space.


The course analyzes the interconnection of gender, race and class along key texts, blogs and artistic interventions in public space. How is built the city? What are regulations and exclusions – where are gaps? These issues will be reflected along the interdisciplinary gender studies and gender-friendly building will be critically discussed.

Reading and discussion of key texts, research and reflection on thematic blogs and artistic interventions, short presentations as a basis for discussion. Essays by the students. City walks in small groups of a maximum of three people. Lecture, ongoing input and supervision of the presentations and interventions by the course instructor.

Presence compulsory, presentation, essays. Conception of an intervention in the public space of Innsbruck. Development of a glossary with central feminist terminology.
