Everyone is a curator and everyone is curated. School, university, Spotify, TikTok, Amazon, fashion, interior design, architecture, artificial intelligence: everyone and everything wants to curate us, advise us, guide us, put our life in the right order.

But what fields of action does the curatorial open up beyond the pragmatics and economics of daily life, and how do curatorial practices become hosts for discourses, images, people, machines, organisms, generalized for processes in social, technical and natural environments?

The seminar discusses the exhibition as a medium and place of assembly and examines how objects are woven into social and semantic networks. In terms of curatorial practice, the focus is on the conceptual development and formal elaboration of concrete realizations. In particular, intersections between curatorial and artistic methods will be explored experimentally.

Participation in the course requires an interest in theory, aesthetic competence, practical experience and experimental curiosity. Camping experience and DIY skills are welcome.

Course examination according to § 7, statute section on "study-law regulations".
