418611 EX Excursion: Media Summit Seefeld
winter semester 2025/2026 | Last update: 17.09.2025 | Place course on memo listThe students are able to prepare and follow up a current topic from politics / society and media and to lead it in the context of a moderated panel discussion. In doing so, you will become aware of the interplay of expertise from the fields of media and communication and be able to actively apply this (media summit in Lech).
As part of a scholarship program, 10 Master students from different faculties will prepare and chair a panel on media and politics.
The event is embedded in the 15th European Media Summit in Seefeld from December 4 to 6 (www.mediengipfel.at). This year's motto is: - “Daring more freedom” - Current developments and perspectives for Europe-. The Uni-Panel is expected to take place on Friday, December 6th and will last 1.5 hours. During the three-day event, there will be a unique opportunity to network with experts from politics, media, science and business on site.
There is an uncomplicated application procedure. The documents should be available at the start of the lecture and must include
1. letter of motivation: Why is the European Media Summit of interest to me?
2. tabular and clearly structured curriculum vitae (see also Europass format)
3. a brief outline of how the proposed discussion topic for the university panel could be structured: “Limitless freedom of the platform economy in Europe?” (one page, approx. 500 words).

She will also be available to answer questions.
IMPORTANT: As usual, all interested parties must register for this course in the VIS system by the deadline.
Discussion, presentation, moderation training. Further, if necessary also individual online conferences for preparation take place in consultation.
Submission of a preparatory written paper, a position paper as well as a practical contribution (including moderation, social media team, writing an article in print, online), etc. In addition, teamwork, time management, independence and initiative / commitment play a role in the assessment..
Literature will be announced in time on OLAT
Active Master's Degree.

The cost of transportation, free room and board, and attendance at the Summit throughout the period will be covered.
There might be online meeting in addition.
Participation is mandatory and essential for all dates.
