In the project workshop, individual project plans are initially discussed and conceptually formulated, then worked on individually in an initial working phase, to be presented and critically discussed again during the last four sessions of the lecture period as interim results of the ongoing work process. The project is then completed during the lecture-free period at the end of the semester and must be submitted to the course instructor at least one week before the end of the semester.
The content of the projects is determined on the basis of personal research interests that were recognized in the discussion of topics from the previous courses of the WP or were identified outside the aspects and problems of East Asian cultures, literatures, societies and political systems directly introduced by the courses. The decisive factor for the acceptance of content proposals is a convincing justification of interest in the first three sessions of the semester, which are largely designed to identify topics.
The semester is divided into four main sections. During the first three sessions of the lecture period, personal ideas and areas of interest will be discussed. A general work plan is then pre-formulated for each project, which will be tested and refined as the individual work on the project progresses. The first individual work phase begins at the end of October and lasts until the end of the year. During this phase, there is the possibility of personal consultations with the course leader at any time. The meetings in January are reserved for the presentation and joint critique of the interim results of each individual project. After the end of the lecture period, the final phase begins, during which the project work is finalized. The submission deadline ends at the beginning of the last week of the semester.
Submission of the project work.
Individual selection of literature according to the requirements of the project and in consultation with the course instructor.
