Students who have completed this course will have a thorough understanding of term rewriting. They are prepared to further develop term rewriting with independent research contributions.
The course will cover current and advanced developments in term rewriting:
- AC rewriting
- Gröbner bases
- Hydra battles
- modularity
- proof terms
- termination
- …
Continuous assessment (based on regular written and/or oral contribution by participants).
Continuous assessment based on regular written and oral contributions. An optional written test is offered at the end of the course.
Extensive slides. Accompanying literature will be linked from the course website.
Familiarity with the basics of term rewriting (as thought in the bachelor course on Term Rewriting).
