In this lecture, we will look at postcolonial theories and their links to feminist perspectives. The conceptualisation was genuinely linked to the analysis of power and inequalities. We will deal with constructions of self and others, attributions, markings, imaginations and power constellations in relation to gender. The interdisciplinary research field of postcolonial theory offers perspectives that focus on the persistence, consequences and impact of colonial discourses, practices and ways of thinking on current political and scientific structures. We are dedicated to the ideas of authors such as Gloria Anzaldua, Audre Lorde and many more.
We will analyse theoretical concepts as well as concepts that originate from social movements and have a more practical reference. The aim is to gain an overview of the ideas and the associated research and, above all, to understand them.
