The student is familiar with the main aspects of the lay out of energy efficient buidlings and has the competence to use the knowledge in conrete projects for new buildings and renovation. 

In the seminar test cases for buildings will be analyzed and calculated.

The lecture is parallel and interrelated with the seminar of Prof Pfluger about "Energy Efficient Buildings".

Used lecture contents are:

town plan map, shading, optimized orientation of the building (windows, walls, roofs), heat bridges, energy balance, building and building service technologies

Using one or more building test cases the building itself as well as the building services and the use of renewable energies in the building will be designed and integrated to an optimized whole building.

the students will be split in several groups dealing with different aspects but forced to combine the results to an optimized overall system. The is to learn interdisciplinary and interacted planning. 

The examnations consists of the acitivities in the seminar and the seminar work.
