Learning Outcome: Students acquire a thorough factual knowledge of cultural-scientific concepts and methodologies in the various areas of musicology, along with a critical awareness and appreciation of current issues in musicological research.

Learning Outcome: Students acquire a profound factual knowledge and specialized insights into the interaction between music and other forms of art, while developing a critical awareness and appreciation of research activities in this field.

Learning Outcome: Students acquire a profound factual knowledge and specialized insights into select areas of popular music, and into the methods used in researching popular music.
Module 8: Master's Thesis Defense (2.5 ECTS-Credits) (no courses)
Prerequisites for registration: Positive completion of all modules and positive evaluation of the Master's Thesis.
Learning Outcome: Examination of the Master's thesis in the overall context of the Master programme; with special focus on theoretical comprehension, methodical issues, communication of findings of the Master thesis and presentation skills.
