Students are able to understand violence as a multi-layered phenomenon, they know about risks of violence with reference to generational and gender relations. They are familiar with different forms of violence, their causes and consequences, know prevention and intervention options in the context of child welfare risks, abuse, gender violence, etc

Gender-based and generational violence occurs in many forms: as domestic violence, sexualized violence, digital violence, etc.

The seminar will discuss causes, manifestations, data and facts as well as effects and consequences of domestic violence, abuse and child neglect. Questions will be explored that address the possibilities of non-violent family conflict resolution and partner relationships. The specific risks of violence that can arise in connection with asymmetrical gender and generational relationships are addressed.

In small groups, the students work on a topic or a question, including literature research. The form in which the research work is up to the students (e.g. empirical study, journal research, statistical data collection, etc.). The case presentation as well as the presentation of the results will take place during the attendance phase including handout and subsequent discussion. The learning processes of the students are supported by additional suggestions, discussions as well as feedback rounds by the teacher.
