Participants will learn basic principles, applications and the biology of human in vitro 3D cultures – organoids.

Questions surrounding state-of-the-art 3D human organ cell culture will be discussed. These include organoid models of various tissues, pluripotent and adult stem cells. What is organoid technology? What biological questions can be addressed using organoids? Which benefits have organoids in clinical research and how can patients benefit? 

Particpants will learn the handling of pluripotent stem cells to setup organoids, analysis of organoid tissue states, genetic analyses.

Die Vorbesprechung für alle Wahlmodule im Masterstudium findet am 2.3.2026 um 16 h 15 in HS B statt.

Für die Absolvierung des Wahlmoduls ist eine ganztägige Teilnahme an allen drei Teilen (Vorlesung, Seminar, Übung) erforderlich.
