Functions of non-coding RNAs (ncRNAs)

Contents:

Many ncRNAs function als genetic switches and thus regulate the expression of protein-coding genes; other ncRNAs are catalytically active and function as enzymes (so-called ribozymes). The lecture deals with the various functions of ncRNAs, also in humans, als well as with their application in medicine.

Remarks:

A preliminary meeting for all optional modules of the master study in molecular biology will be held on March 3, 2025 at 4 pm in lecture hall B at the Campus Technik. It is obligatory to attend all three parts (lecture, seminar, course) to pass the module.
