Lexical linguistic typology examines the differences and similarities between the languages of the world in terms of how people categorise the world linguistically. This includes the fundamental question of the categories into which people categorise the world and how exactly they name which areas of life. Differences and similarities in this respect are demonstrated in the course using the areas of body-part terms, kinship terms, personal pronouns, number words and colour terms.
