This course is an introduction to the theories, methodologies, and technologies to develop, store, share, and apply actionable business information.

The course is designed to introduce the students with the concept of Data Analytics (Big Data) and its applicability in a number of disciplines. Data Analytics is the science of deriving the knowledge that is obtained from analyzing the data. Students will be introduced with the process of collecting, inspecting, cleaning, organizing, transforming, and visualizing of the big data. Also, the students will learn the basic concepts necessary in the statistical modeling of the big data in order to discover patterns (useful information) in the data and to use it in the decision making process. The course is targeted towards students who would like to know the current practices being used and the potential use of large scale data analytics.
