Students who have completed this course understand the aspects of modern software development relevant to scientific computing. They are familiar with the basics of software and data management. They can apply the relevant skills in a team and are thus able to efficiently handle software projects and data sets of different sizes.

Introduction to modern versioning techniques and a way of working based on them; building reproducible environments (containerization); best practices of data management and software development; automated methods of quality assurance. The focus is on the practical application of these technologies.
