The students are going to become acquainted with contemporary literature on philosophical theology. They will learn to understand and critically evaluate arguments for the existence of God. They shall acquire the capacity to develop and defend their own views on the issue.

Are there sound philosophical arguments for the existence of God? In contemporary debates, one can notice a revival of philosophical or “natural” theology. We are going read and discuss current texts on the topic, especially the book by Edward Feser, Five Proofs of the Existence of God, San Francisco 2017. Furthermore, we will deal with the relationship of faith and reason, viz. philosophy and theology.
