202733 VO Philosophical Fundamentals of Cognitive Sciences
summer semester 2021 | Last update: 16.04.2020 | Place course on memo listBasic knowledge of philosophical issues in the cognitive sciences and their implicatons for philosophical arguments, since concepts of cognitive sciences play an important role in philosophical (and theological) anthropology and the philosophy of mind.
We will discuss the following questions:
- What is consciousness?
- What are important theories in cognitive sciences?
- Is our consciousness exclusively produced by our brain?
Lecture and discussion, text reading.
Written exam.
Will be anounced in the course.
For Bachelor's Programme in Philosophy at the Faculty of Catholic Theology (C 033 194): positive completion of compulsory modules 2 and 3.
For Bachelor's Programme in Catholic Religious Education (C 033 193): positive completion of compulsory module 1.
For Diploma Programme in Catholic Theology: positive completion of compulsory module 1 (first part of studies).
