Familiarity with Stanley Hauerwas's social ethics.

The American ethicist Stanley Hauerwas is one of the leading theologians in the United States. In 2001 “Time Magazine” named him “America's Best Theologian”. Coming from a Methodist background he later became an Episcopalian. He also has been in close contact with Catholic Theology due to his time at Notre Dame University from 1970 to 1983. He is especially well-known for his biblically based Christian ethics, for his theological approach on politics, his pacifism and for his emphasis on the importance of the church. In this seminar we will discuss key issues of Hauerwas’ theological ethics.
