Thomas C. Abraham is head of the institute for adult education at the Mahatma-Gandhi University of Kottayam (Kerala/India) and diploma-holder in Theme-Centered-Interaction (TCI). Due to the sociological situation of India he is very experienced in education work with heterogeneous - multi-religious and multi-cultural - groups and follows an understanding of education as process of empowerment. This includes taking in consideration very seriously the anthropological, spiritual and biographical background of the counter part in education settings. In this course Prof. Thomas Abraham will share with us his rich experiences als well as his theoretical background. As further aim of the course we shall try to work on the significance of his insights for our own contexts. Prof. Abraham hinself ist not theologian but approaches in the mentioned topic from the side of pedagogy and social work. This fact makes him a very challenging dialogue partner for theologians and students of theology, because it forces to change perspectives.
