The goal of this course is to familiarise students whose native language is not English with basic legal terminology.

The course covers legal terminology regarding legal education, legal professions, sources of law, civil and criminal courts and procedure. Examples will be taken from the legal system of England and Wales as well as European Law.

Half of the course will take place in class. The second half consits of online moduls. Please make sure you have a valid e-mail account and adequate internet access. You will have to download pictures and audio files. Participants will be asked to read assigned texts (cases, excerpts from textbooks etc.) and do online tests etc. in preparation for and in addition to each class.

The final grade shall be determined on the basis of oral participation, fulfillment of the online tasks as well as a written exam at the end of the course.

This course will be held in the second half of the semester: It is limited to 30 participants. Enrollment exclusively via LFU-online!!
