This course examines the structure and functioning of the EU. It begins by examining various theories of regional integration, including functionalism, neo-functionalism, sta-tist theories, and multi-level governance. Ties are drawn between theory and develop-ments in the EU. It then examines EU policy in several areas, including environmental and social policy, market integration, and the Common Foreign and Security Policy.
