This course is intended to provide an introduction to the approach and methods of behavioral economics, and to some of its major findings, applications, and promising new directions
Departures from rationality. Non-expected utility theory, prospect theory, overconfidence, endowment effect, mental accounting, preference reversal, bounded rationality, learning, elements of game theory.
Departures of self-interest: Empirical evidences. Fairness: definition, a model of fairness, applications. Inequity aversion: definition, a model of inequity aversion, applications. Reciprocity: definitions, models and application.
Lectures and excercises
The course will be completed with a written exam
Prerequisites: Fundamental concepts of Game theory, good knowledge of mathematics (specially algebraic manipulation and solutions of system of equations)
