Understanding behavioral decision making and its impact on markets and organizations

The course offers a thorough introduction into behavioral economics. In particular, we examine how behavioral concepts can explain human behavior that is at odds with the predictions of classic economic analysis. The following topics will be discussed in the course: loss aversion, reference points, hyperbolic discounting, naiveté, social preferences, identity, behavioral biases, financial decisions, bounded rationality, exploiting consumers, libertarian paternalism, bargaining.

Succesful completion of one elective module in special economics (fundamentals).
