The course studies a number of important international economic institutions, the reasons for their existence, their policies and the effect of their policies on member countries and others
The course of the summer term will give an introduction to the most important international organizations and focuses on the global financial architecture and other issues concerning reforms of international institiutions.
Lecture, presentations, discussion, additional material presented on the internet and in the seminar.
At the end of each lecture students have to write an essay choosing one of the tropics, wich are taken from the material presented and the reading list. The evaluation of the interactive part is based on the group presentations and the semimar papers. The final exam for the whole course consists of a written test including problems from both lectures and the seminar, as well as from the reading list and the symposium.
