This course will enable students to understand most important theories and empirical facts regarding economic growth and business cycles. After completion of the course, students will be able to analyze empirically economic policy issues regarding long term growth and business cycles, with a special emphasis on monetary policy.

(i) Economic growth: Solow model, Ramsey model, Diamond model, new growth theory. (ii) Business cycles: Real business cycles, Keynesian theories of fluctuations. (iii) Inflation and monetary policy.
