Participants of this module will understand the content of the lecture and will be able to explain and apply it. They should have acquired the capability to learn additional content about programming on their own. In addition, they should have acquired a basic understanding of the way of thinking in computer science.

The course addresses core concepts of programming using python and the infrastructure, required for this purpose. The participants learn and train essential topics about:
•    Command Line Interface
•    Variables and Data Structures
•    Control Flow Statements
•    Functions and Methods
•    Modular Programming
Students will elaborate examples and weekly assignments with increasing difficulty over time to internalize these concepts
In parallel, students will learn basic techniques of systematic software development, such as version management, code-based documentation, debugging, testing, and refactoring. Those techniques will be successively introduced and practiced while learning Python, but their fundamentals are applicable to any programming language.

Lecture with interactive elements are courses with continuous examinations, which are held in presence with compulsory attendance. The participants prove their knowledge through weekly assignments, presentations of the exercises and regularly written tests. The necessary content to solve these tasks are taught during the lecture period and should be internalized at home. To improve the quality of the course, additional videos are provided repeating the content thought during the lecture and Artemis is used as programming platform to give students immediate feedback on the progress of their exercises.

Immanent examination
