Know different cultures in their practical involvement; differentiate the disadvanta-geous practices of discriminating based on sex, race ,class and ethnicity; broaden their participation to mix and work with different group of people; identify easily how people live, act, and think in different cultures: develop conflict resolutions using practical research and appreciate other cultures; appreciate cultural differences as sources of development; apply their knowledge of cultural pluralism in social activi-ties; apply their cultural experience in their autonomy, achievement, of social con-tact, work lives and over all development. evaluate critically social and government policies in social service programs; analyze cultural differences and similarities in social work.
The course is intended to provide students an insight in multi-cultural and cross-cultural social experiences through experiential education and practical research. In a world increasingly plural, students are expected to be knowledgeable in multicul-turalism by benefiting from the practical Cultural studies, by applying theories and thoughts, learn Global inter dependence between different social and Ethnic groups using shared practices. More over, they will develop conflict resolution skills, which stem from difference in race, sex, ethnicity, and class or gender perspective. The course will help students to avoid attributing one set of characteristic to whole cultu-ral, racial, sexual or ethnic groups. Though the students, in the guided learning, cul-tural contacts, group excursion, discussion forums, seminars, and in researching reality will learn migration history, trends, social implication, and cultural adjustment.
The proposed methodology is mainly a short presentations and lectures, group work and tutoring, research on actual conditions, group presentation, discussion forums, and excursion.
