Students achieve an overview of the multi layered concepts of learning as seen from an educational perspective, in relation to the current social requirements. Furthermore, students are in a position to analyze their own learning processes in context of the development of social ideologies and/or established practices.

With an educational approach, the course helps to achieve an understanding of the specific aspects of learning in certain phases of life. With this in mind, the course aims to break up the one-sidedness between society and subject with respect to “learning”. A self reflective approach towards students’ own learning practice in connection with relevant literature will emphasize the challenges and characteristics of ubiquitous dialectical processes.

Text reading and discussion; examining practical examples of the conventional understanding of learning processes; practical exercises and self-reflection.

Regular attendance and participation; short presentations to the given literature as a basis for a plenary discussion; position paper  3-5 pages long at the end of the course.

To be announced at the beginning of the course.
