After this course you will have become familiar with the fields of English and American studies and you will have learned how to find, evaluate, organise and integrate relevant information efficiently into your own academic work.

This course introduces you to the fields of English and American Studies and is designed to run parallel to the lecture “VO Grundlagen des philologisch-kulturwissenschaftlichen Studiums”. You will train your research skills and practise using library catalogues, databases and the Internet. Furthermore, you will learn how to prepare presentations and write academic papers according to MLA style.

Lecture, assessment is based on a single examination at the end of the course.
