To heighten students' awareness of the various lexical structures and patterns in English.

Word formation, prefixes, suffixes, compounds, synonyms, antonyms, homonymy, polysemy, borrowed words, phrasal verbs, countable/uncountable nouns, collocations, euphemisms, abbreviations and acronyms. Topic-based vocabulary.

Interactive, communicative approach to lexical usage by creating meaningful contexts in the classroom. Group work.

Written final exam and course participation.
