high literary and cultural theoretical and methodological competence needed in writing a master thesis

Students who are writing (or think of writing) their M.A. or Ph.D. theses, especially those who want to choose me as their supervisor and/or who want to take their oral “Diplomprüfung” with me, are expected to take this course. It is also recommended to advanced students who are just interested in discussing specific issues in the field of English literature and criticism. We will discuss topical issues and new tendencies in literary and cultural criticism, methodological and bibliographical questions as well as practical issues relating to the writing of a thesis. Opportunity will be provided for students to discuss the outlines of their theses and all questions relating to their topics in this course. Please take account of the fact that the taking part in one “Konvers” is a curricular requirement
