The aim of this course is to both promote receptive listening skills and further develop oral skills with regards to pronunciation, intonation, stress, grammar, vocabulary, and fluency. Audio and video clips from English-speaking news sources will be used to focus the discussion around a particular topic and to foment student participation.

Use of a variety of texts on areas pertaining to English and American Studies, including literature studies, cultural studies, linguistics, media studies, etc.

Interactive teacher student approach, group work, listening journal.

Listening final exam. Oral final exam. Exam dates to be announced in the course.
