Leading participants to language competence C2 in listening, speaking, reading and writing.

Close/analytical reading (humour, allusion, collocations, word play etc.). Spontaneous and prepared oral tasks. Writing tasks: essays, reviews, summaries - work on language competence, structure and effective presentation of content -, language synthesis, etc. Class presentations, dealing with listening comprehension. A blend of all four skills.

In-class: spontaneous and prepared language tasks, presentations, reading, critical discussion of students' work

Final written, oral and listening comprehension exams, course assessment and participation.

All students must have ready access to good monolingual and bilingual dictionanaries, a dictionary of collocations and idioms. Materials will be provided in class.
