This seminar will explore the structural parallels and idiosyncrasies of cinematic forms and literary texts. Analyzing mostly feature length films and narrative fiction we will pay particular attention to experiments in plot structures, narrative modes, points of view and characterization in both media.
Course requirements are active class participation, a 20-minute presentation, and a 15-page research paper.
