Either for Film & Media Studies or for American Culture: to study the effect that Austrian exiles and/or visitors to the U.S. had on Hollywood in many areas of the industry: above all film directors, actors/actresses, composers, art directors, screenwriters, and producers, some of whom went via Germany; to analyse some of the films that were made by/with them for their contribution to the film industry and film as an art; to investigate the Hollywood film people who came to Austria and what they produced as a result of their stay.

For this course "Anglistik/Amerikanistik" students ("neuer Studienplan") must have passed the ¿Introduction to Film Studies¿ for Film Studies credit and the ¿Introduction to American Literature & Culture¿ for Cultural Studies credit. (together with AYA )
