Insight into the variety of lyrical techniques and topics of the Russian avantgarde with special regard to the akmeismist movement

The course will privide a deeper insight into the variety of topics and poetical techniques, which were prevalent in the Russian avantgarde. Emphasis will be placed on the lyrics of the akmeists, i.e. the early poems of Anna Akhmatova and Osip Mandelshtam.
