Recurrent problems in English-German translation; text analysis, text categories/types, translation techniques, transfer stategies.

Analysing source texts and discussing various translations

2 written tests, class contribution, homework assignments

Course materials will be provided in class.

In order to participate in this course, students must have successfully completed Translation I, English - German and German - English, as well as Sight Translation I.

If the number of students is too high on one of the courses (group a or b), students will be shifted to the other course (based on date and time of enrolment).
