It is created in projects and also serves as a basis for new research questions. Numerous techniques and standards facilitate the collection, structuring and use of this data. This course provides an overview of data schemas, databases, metadata and linked data and highlights their importance for the humanities.
Data modeling, basics of databases, metadata and metadata standards, basics of linked data.
Lecture by course instructor, discussions and exercises during the lesson, independent study between the units, homework (incl. presentation)
Continuous active participation, reading, homework, final exam
Prerequisite is your own laptop with administrator rights (installation of programs).
Please note: As the course ends earlier, units must be made up by December. The replacement dates will be discussed in the course.
