626862 PR research in the field of formal education and internship
summer semester 2025 | Last update: 21.11.2024 | Place course on memo listThe students know current research findings, developments and scientific-pragmatic basics in the areas educational development, professional community, learning research, the education professionalization of teachers, research on school alongside leadership- and educational development-research. They are able to independently arrange, apply and evaluate insights from these areas with regard to research in different school settings considering current literature. The students can analyse their findings based on theories and reflect upon them, are able to pose critical questions and to illustrate and implement concrete, case-specific options for professional practice – especially questions concerning diversity in the educational and school-system (gender, inclusion, heterogeneity, interculturality and plurality in worldviews). The students reflect on their experiences regarding school as an educational institution keeping current theoretical concepts to professionalize educational professions in mind. They see themselves as professionally acting educators who are members of a professional, educational and active community. Based on these results the students are capable of analysing, planning, implementing and critically evaluating learning processes in institutionalized learning situations with regard to current theories and research. The students know scientific theoretical basics and innovations in their own education system and possess an overview of international perspectives and developments concerning education, school and lessons.
The lecture consists of a university section and a (research-based) practical section at an educational institution (new middle school (NMS), polytechnic school (PTS) academic secondary school (AHS), vocational middle or secondary school (BHMS) …). The focus of the university portion is the scientific, theoretical and methodological, study of professional and educational research, school- and lesson-based research alongside research on learning and teaching based on modern scientific approaches and projects. Multiple scientific methods will be introduced and central methods, both quantitative and qualitative are equally present, are reflected with regard to personal research activities. Based on this the lecture supports the conception, planning and implementation of an individual scientific project. Further theoretical development with current educational, scientific theories and results will take place within the discourse. The school-based portion includes the conception planning and implementation of an autonomous project in the areas professional and educational research, school- and lesson-based research or research on teaching and learning.
