This course aims to familiarize you with L2 vocabulary research. We will read and talk about what is currently known about vocabulary acquisition and vocabulary learning and discuss how we can apply this knowledge in practical teaching and testing situations.

After this course, you should be able to evaluate and design vocabulary components for EFL language courses, including activities and tests.

This course is an introduction to key areas and issues in second language vocabulary research. We will discuss principles of vocabulary learning, vocabulary learning strategies, experience and assess vocabulary activities and tests and critically evaluate vocabulary studies. The insights gained will enable us to make evidence-informed decisions on how to implement and integrate vocabulary learning in teaching and testing practice in language classrooms.

Diese LV ist dem Mittelmodul "IMoF" zugeordnet und kann für Studierende mit zwei Fremdsprachen als Kompensation für die LV "Testen und Bewerten" für das Unterrichtsfach Englisch angerechnet werden.
