Having successfully completed this module, students are able to actively participate in the discussion of the current state of knowledge in an area of numerical analysis and scientific computing and can critically reflect on and discuss issues with experts of the chosen discipline. On this basis, they are able to make their own contributions to research.

The seminar is devoted to the discussion of recent advances in the numerical solution of differential equations and their efficient implementation on modern computer systems. Emphasis is laid on time and space discretization, complexity reduction, and high performance computing aspects. The seminar is intended for students who write a master's thesis in our group - or who intend to start with a master's thesis or a PhD thesis in the near future.
