Upon successful completion of this module, students will be able to actively participate in the discussion of the current state of knowledge in an area of numerical analysis and to critically reflect on and discuss issues with experts in the chosen discipline. On this basis, they will be able to make their own contributions to research.

The seminar on numerical analysis and scientific computing is devoted to the discussion of recent advances in the numerical solution of differential equations. Emphasis is placed on time integration, in particular exponential integrators, splitting methods, dynamical low-rank approximations, and complexity reduction for linear and nonlinear evolution equations. The seminar is intended for students who are writing a Master's or PhD thesis in our group - or who intend to start a Master's or PhD thesis in the near future. The seminar will be offered every semester.

Continuous assessment (based on regular written and oral contributions by the participants).
