The seminar is devoted to the study of nonlinear partial differential equations of diffusion type. This class of problems includes nonlinear heat equations, geometric heat flows or the Navier-Stokes equations. Our goal is to gain some understanding of the role of self-similar solutions in the time-evolution.

Participants will prepare talks on selected topics the level of which will be adjusted to individual prerequisites.

As a basis, we will use the book  "Nonlinear Partial Differential Equations - Asymptotic behavior of solutions and self-similar solutions”  by M.-H. Giga,  Y. Giga and J. Saal.

Analysis 1-4.

The lecture is held in English.
