Having successfully completed this module, students are able to actively participate in the discussion of the current state of knowledge in an area of numerical analysis and can critically reflect on and discuss issues with experts of the chosen discipline. On this basis, they are able to make their own contributions to research.

The numerical analysis seminar is devoted to the discussion of recent advances in the numerical solution of differential equations. Emphasis is laid on time integration, in particular on exponential integrators and splitting methods for linear and nonlinear evolution equations. The seminar is intended for students who write a master's thesis in my group - or who intend to start with a master's thesis or a PhD thesis in the near future. The seminar is offered every semester.

Presentations with beamer and blackboard. Moderated discussion.

Continuous assessment (based on regular written and oral contributions by the participants).
